Beauty of Blue in the Bedroom

Blue has long been a favorite choice for decorating the bedroom, but most bedding collections that use this hue focus on a spectrum that ranges from pale to mid-range. Build a bedroom around the richness and vibrancy of navy blue, the shade that inspired the new Waverly Home Martine Bed Collection from Target, and the room takes on new level of sophistication and excitement.

At the heart of the collection is the Blue Toile comforter with its charming ivory-toned country images set against a navy background. The cotton comforter, which is edged with bias ticking stripe cording, reverses to a Neutral Toile, with the bucolic vignettes now in navy against an ivory ground. Two shams feature the positive and negative versions of the toile pattern, as well.

An 18-inch wide bolster pillow showcases the Neutral Toile colorway along the roll, but the ends of the pillow are in a navy and ivory ticking stripe. The same stripe is used to fashion distinctive bed sheets. The pillowcases and top sheet are embellished with signature oval satin stitching.

Eye appeal builds with two more decorative pillows. The Navy Blue Criss-cross is an 18-inch square ivory pillow with navy stripes criss-crossing the surface. The intersections of the stripes are set off with rosettes. A rectangular Horizontal Stripe pillow, measuring 11” x 17”, is edged with navy moss fringe.
